SUMMARY:

The primary function of an Assembly Technician II is to assemble, fabricate and test mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies and equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics and servo-mechanisms and using a variety of tools and equipment, ensuring that quality product is built according to drawing requirements and engineering specifications. This position is also responsible for setting up, troubleshooting and testing a variety of equipment in the plant and on customer sites, as well as dis-assembly, troubleshooting and re-assembly of Customer-owned product.

The Assembly Technician II position is also responsible for maintaining WIP inventory of required purchased and manufactured parts while ensuring that only quality product is used to assemble final product in accordance with drawings and generally accepted industry standards. This position is responsible for understanding and interpreting drawings, specifications and documentation and for assembling, operating and troubleshooting equipment in an efficient and safe manner without producing significant scrap or rework. Assembly Technician II is expected to work with limited supervision and instruction.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

  • 10 – 15 years of electro-mechanical assembly & test experience; knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and servos
  • Knowledge of and experience with electro-mechanical assembly techniques, process and hardware
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and standard operating procedures for assembly and test
  • Knowledge and skill in reading, understanding and interpreting moderately complex drawings and specifications

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Math and other technical skills sufficient to understand moderately complex shop drawings
  • Problem-solving skills and analytical skills sufficient to resolve technical and equipment issues and correct errors.
  • Attention to detail with demonstrable mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Able to enter ERP/M1 software and job-related transactions
  • Able to ensure safety of self and others through proper use and maintenance of equipment and machinery
  • Work well with others in a hands-on, team-based work environment
